People Who Miss the Point

I just had a press release emailed to me announcing Katy Perry's upcoming U.S. tour. Katy Perry, in case you missed Ben's post about her and its subsequent angry comments (mostly mine,) is responsible for a song called Ur So Gay, which is 3 minutes and 46 seconds of gay stereotypes tied together with a chorus of "Ur so gay and you don't even like boys."

Why would someone think this would be of interest to us? Any gay publication would be hard-pressed to consider this for coverage, let alone one that's concerned with both ending gay stereotypes and getting the word out about good music. Remember, people: things with "gay" in the title don't necessarily appeal to gay people.

I have never heard of this girl, and I'm not going to read Ben's post because I like it that way. Let her rot in obscurity.
