When You are Engulfed in Flames

As a Greek homo with a lisp, I'm pretty much required to read everything David Sedaris publishes. His books have been my emotional armor on nearly every soul-blistering xmas trip to my father's rustbelt hometown. With family reunion season upon us, I was looking forward to Sedaris' new collection, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, released Tuesday. Then I read the fine print.

Nearly all of these stories have already run in The New Yorker and This American Life. I'll probably buy this book for the sake of convenience, but hope there's new material on the horizon. And for those of you who find Sedaris' narrative style patented & prosaic, Zack's got you covered.

Sedaris is a fine writer with a knack for selling the same story over and over and over and
