Even though it's only 9 days into February and the worst of winter is far from behind us, the recent warm weather and lengthening days have ushered in that time of year when it's alright to at least think about the spectre of spring without setting yourself up for crushing disappointment. The Kink's "Better Things" is my personal anthem for cautious optimism. It indicates that, well, better things might be on their way while also recognizing that the worst of it might not be over. It is wishing better things, not celebrating their arrival. Regardless, I hope you all enjoy it as we March back towards sunshine and good moods. Just like the scary cartoon elves who bottle sunshine in the above video. Not sure what it's from, but whoever coordinated it with the music did a fantastic job.
