TNG Mixtape
Afternoon, folks! It's another freezing, but lovely Wednesday here in the District and you all know what that means. It's mixtape time! (And, no, I have no idea why it's sparkling...) As usual, I've taken the songs and artists mentioned in yesterday's What We're Listening To and put together a little playlist for your enjoyment. Of course, I also took the liberty of padding it with a few bonus tracks. Last Sunday, I went on a vinyl bender and I think my favorite thing I bought was a copy of Van Morrison's Moondance. It's so sexy! Good Lord! So I had to include the opening track, "And It Stoned Me." And as I type this, I'm listening to Noble Beast, the new album from indie singer/songwriter and generally awesome person Andrew Bird. It's probably his best work yet, so look for that to drop January 20. (I smell a future WWLT...) I wanted to include the album version of the first track, "Oh No," but sadly it was unavailable, so I hope you enjoy the live version. It has very pretty strings. Also, we have a late request from Allison who's been listening to Freda Payne's "Band of Gold" a lot, because "for some reason this song makes [her] smile even though it's about heartbreak." Much like any other song worth listening to, right? So feel free to dig in; the full playlist is after the jump...
Michael Franti & Spearhead - "Say Hey (I Love You)" (Jolly)
Empire Of The Sun - "Walking on a Dream" (Summer Camp)
Fredrik - "Black Fur" (Zack)

Stoa - "So Many Clouds" (Craig)
Bee Gees - "You Win Again" (Philip)
