Queering the 'Burbs: LGBT Happy Hour in Silver Spring - Jan. 29
This event listing was submitted by TNG reader Randal.
While most of us who live just outside of the District enjoy the DC queer scene, sometimes we just want to chill out in our neighborhood, you know? And with the recent closing of Rehab in Wheaton, opportunities for such close-by queer connections have become all the more rare.
To that end, a couple of us have formed Queer Socials for Silver Spring Locals, a new LGBT group for people who live or work in the greater Silver Spring area (Takoma Park, Wheaton, College Park, Bethesda, and beyond).
Our first event is a happy hour:
Thursday, January 29, 2009
6:00pm - 9:00pm
At Quarry House Tavern
8401 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD
Quarry House is a queer-friendly Silver Spring "dive" with a great beer selection and some excellent tunes on the jukebox. And did I mention the tater tots?
In honor of our first event, the fine folks at Quarry House have offered to extend happy hour prices for our group for the entire evening and also provide some snacks.
