Prop 8 Passed, Now What: A Community Discussion on Marriage in DC

With the fight for marriage equality heating up in the District, DC for Marriage is sponsoring a discussion on Thursday, December 11th from 7-9pm. The conversation will be on bringing the local queer community together to work towards equal rights here in the District. Sean Bugg, co-publisher of Metro Weekly, will be moderating the forum at the HRC Equality Center (1640 Rhode Island Ave NW).

If you still find yourself randomly thinking about Prop 8 throughout the week and getting pissed off, this might be a good way to channel some of that energy and turn it into something positive. DC for Marriage reminds us that the civil rights battle is not a "spectator sport," so - keeping with sports metaphors as best as I can - it's time to suit up and hit this one out of the park. That's enough of that.
