Friday: Gaylaxicon 2008
Gaylaxicon, the GLTB science fiction convention takes place this weekend in downtown Bethesda, starting this Friday. Expect to meet and mingle with fans of Star Trek, Torchwood, Clive Barker, Samuel Delany, Xena, various RPG gamers and slash fiction. There'll be panel discussions, readings, book signings and parties--I imagine there might be even some filking. All of it queer-oriented. This year's guest of honor is Was author Geoff Ryman, whose novel was reviewed here. The Spectrum Awards, which celebrates GLTB representation in SF, horror, and fantasy literature will also be presented at the conference.

I don't recognize anyone on the guest lineup, but I hope some of the vendor tables offer some good geek schwag. I'll see you there, I'm going on Saturday afternoon.
