Sparkle featues JT Bullock - Tonight

Sol Y Soul presents SPARKLE, a queer driven open mic night, tonight at Busboys & Poets. The event is hosted by Danielle Evennou will feature poet J.T. Bullock.

Jospeh Thomas Bullock is a New Orleans native who, after seventeen years, left the Big Easy for a slower pace in the Deep South of Alabama. On the competitive poetry slam circuit, he was a Southern Fried Poetry Slam champion in Memphis. He has also been a finalist at the Lake Eden Arts Festival in Black Mountain, North Carolina. In 2006, he placed 19th in the nation out of nearly 400 poets from 72 venues across the United States, Canada, and abroad at the National Poetry Slam in Austin, Texas.

I'm such a big fan- really smart poetry. None of this whiny circle jerk crap- he's a poets poet- I heard him a few weeks ago and he's got some really current stuff on Prop 8- worth the trip!
