16th Anual Lavender Languages & Linguistics Conference - Feb.13-15

This post was submitted by TNG Events Editor Jolly.

The American University Department of Anthropology presents the 16th Annual Lavender Languages and Linguistics Conference this Friday through Sunday. The conference will look at many different LGBTQ issues and is open to the public.

The first Lavender Languages Conference was held at the American University in 1993, in conjunction with the 1993 National March on Washington DC for Lesbian and Gay Rights. Unlike the case at the larger professional meetings, this conference is organized to facilitate face-to-face conversation. This discussion unfolds continuously throughout the three-day conference period and participants work hard each year to maintain a non-attitude environment at all conference events.

Lavender Languages is now the longest running LGBTQ studies conference in North America. Please consider this your personal invitation to join them this weekend so you can be part of this ongoing exchange.
