The
noise is back in town, up at Comet Ping Pong. Tonight's Gypsy Eyes showcase features Double Dagger, Fiasco, and is headlined by
the Apes, who'll likely play lots from this year's fantastic sci-fi sounding
Ghost Games. I can think of three good reasons to go to this show:
- Supporting an all ages venue
- Encouraging nontradtional community show spaces in the District
- Apes' "Neutered Noel" album promo video
It's also the ultimate BOOYAH! in the face of the ANC that tried to shut Comet's concert series down, last spring. And, it's the once-in-a-millenium 08-08-08! So while you're listening to Elliott Smith's
Figure Eight, playing your old Nintendo (eight-bit gaming!), and pouring some out for Andre the Giant (8th wonder of the world!), consider heading to Connecticut Ave.'s high country for a ten buck show (doors at 9 pm).
