Outwrite July: Michael Christopher (7/24)
June’s edition of Outwrite, featuring local writer and one-time stripper Craig Seymour, packed the 14th Street offices of The D.C. Center, Washington’s recently created gay and lesbian community organization. For July, the venue moves to Artfully Chocolate (14th and Q Streets, NW), where Michael-Christopher will read from and discuss his work this Thursday, 7/24, at 7:30 p.m.
Perhaps best known for his Living the Life graphic novel series, Christopher has also written more traditionally-formatted fiction, such as this year's Unspeakable. Local talents like Lisa C. Moore and Tim’m West praised his first book, From Top to Bottom, which was set in the gay black community in Washington D.C. It should be a fascinating reading and The D.C. Center deserves major support for its community and cultural programming. Come on out!
