Fun with the T-Shirt Insurgency
As I wandered through the Crafty Bastards Arts and Crafts Fair in Silver Spring last weekend, my eye was caught by a light blue t-shirt emblazoned with the words “Gay on Tuesdays.” Because I am gay seven days per week, I decided I had to discover who might have their schedule organized enough to be gay just one day out of seven.
And it was the T-Shirt Insurgency. Recognizing the Guantanamo Bay shirt (don’t ask, just look) from my occasional forays into the wonderful, out-of-the-way Capitol Hill Books (with whom the Insurgency seems to have a relationship), I stopped long enough to laugh at and then purchase the Red Rover shirt.
The Insurgency’s particular brand of humor, billed as being “for the ironically inclined,” will surely hit or miss based on individual taste. But what D.C.-area resident can resist displaying their knowledge of the regions’s dreaded “Wintry Mix”? Check these fellas out: they’ve got the right spirit, even if they’re only 1/7th gay.

i saw a super cute boy on metro with that red rover shirt on few weeks ago. was it you?
i think the people who buy the "gay on tuesday" shirt might do so because that is the day that the crew club has half-price lockers. a guy i met who lives across the street from the place was telling me it's like an abercrombie & fitch catalog or a military porn walking in and out of there most tuesdays.
Aw, shucks -- wish I could say it was, Adam (why yes, I do accept compliments...), but I only picked my "Red Rover" shirt up at Crafty Bastards at the end of June. Feel free to get me mixed up with a super-cute boy any time!
i also know someone who knows someone who once had a lengthy conversation with someone about tuesdays at crew club. (see you in the tubs!)
do they have tubs??? i hope they get cleaned regularly.
no they don't. i probably would have been there by now if they had.
