Big Scot Doesn't F*** Around
I have no intention of moving to New York City. The cost of living is too high, and since the Giuliani era, much of it has morphed to resemble the worst aspects of DC. However, when I learn about interesting people like "Big Scot," a professional doorman who has worked at gay clubs in NYC for 20 years, I understand the appeal of living there.
East Village Boys is probably my favorite gay blog (thanks, Michael), and this is the most entertaining interview I've read in a some time. Big Scot is representative of an East Village that no longer exists, and maybe never will again. After reading his interview, you may want to take him up on his offer of going to the opera and smoking a J in the corner. I know I do.

That interview was awesome.
That is a fantastic, energizing interview. The line "boys who are injured should have better luck from God" just about made me lose it. I have to steal that sometime.
I guess since I'm moving to New York, it stands out to me, but I get tired of reading how the people at TNG, aren't moving to New York, and why.
Couldn't you make be an up, rather then a downwer? I'm staying in DC because of...but if I did move to New York, here is a good reason too...
I guess it's true what they say, most people connect one of two ways, watching tv, or complaining.
I second him re: opera. People just do not seem to be interested in the high performing arts in DC the way they are in NY, Paris, London, and even Seattle and San Francisco. Not the biggest fan of La Bohème here, but I will give it credit for introducing many people to the wonderful world of opera. ^_^
