Birds of a Feather Stink Together

Lets face it fellas, we all like the musky aroma of a hot, sweaty guy. Ladies, I am sure you get sprung when smelling the crisp scent of a feminine fox. There is supposedly some science behind this, and sexual orientation is implicated.

A recent study conducted at the University of Pennsylvania had participants sniff samples of underarm perspiration to see if sexual attraction operated through our sense of smell. Sure enough, they found that gay men were most attracted to the scent of other gay men, lesbians were were most attracted to the scent of other lesbians, and straight women were most attracted to the scent of straight men. Curiously absent from the article is what pit smell excited straight dudes. So, what gives us gay men a distinctive scent? Years of expensive moisturizer and cologne seeping into our pores? Anal-butt-sex? Gin and regret?

I tried to do my own version of this study at Cobalt one night and the men I sniffed were none-too-pleased. Maybe I shouldn't have been wearing a full body stocking at the time? I can't think of any other reason they all got so uppity.

Definitely gin and regret in my case. But seriously...how strange that you can tell someone's gay by scent. Weird.
