• the first thing I notice about a person is her smile; the second is what kind of drink she orders at the bar.
  
• abbreviations annoy me, & if I use them, it is usually with sarcasm.
  
• I'm easily amused & take pleasure in things like buttons, ice cream, bad jokes, and completing the New York Times crossword puzzle.
  
• my father is an apple farmer & my mother personifies Southern hospitality; consequently, I learned how to drive on a "farm use only" manual pick-up & say "yes ma'am" and "no sir" even to my peers.
  
• doodling calms me down, I'm addicted to Burt's Bees chapstick, & I'm really bad at keeping my inner monologue "inner."
